Prince Harry's recent antics shall be now in fluid form! Sheldon's Wines has immortalize Harry's fun times by creating "Royal Blush," a 2011 French rosé, which has a painting of a look alike Prince Harry playing pool! I wonder if that shall be served up at any royal dinners?
50 Chefs of Grey
The 50 Shades of Grey has broken into a new market. Gone are the conversations, and sex shop shopping expeditions. Now the new angle is food. Finally, a cafe I will go to!
As a non coffee drinker, I am left with Tea or Hot Chocolate, and am quite fussy when it comes to both. But now the famous chocolate covered spread product, Nutella, have introduced their Nutelleria cafes across Italy and Germany. Serving up milkshakes, cappuccinos, hot chocolates, muffins, cookies, pancakes, and pizzas (yes the Italians like Chocolate covered pizza!) I feel a trip abroad is required just to stop by for a 'local' cafe treat!
Don't play with your food.
In England, never has there been such war between two food towns since, well I don't think there ever has.. An annual competition between Ramsbottom Black Pudding and Yorkshire Puddings occurs the second Sunday of September and anyone can join in!
Competitors have three turns in an attempt to knock down as many Yorkshire Puddings as possible (they are arranged in a pile of a dozen) and must throw underarm from a purpose built stand called the oche. The competition dates back to the 1980s but the Yorkshire-Lancashire rivalry is lost in the mists of time, and allegedly, during the Wars of the Roses, the two sides exchanged fire with foodstuffs when their ammunition ran out (if you believe that…).
So plans for 9th September anyone?!

Though only available in China (under the name Pork Floss for some reason), let's hope these weird foods stay over there. I just hope it really is Pig, and not some domesticated animal meat being used!

What is this?! Ice Cream? Can You Guess What McDonald’s Food Item This Is?
Say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It’s what all fast-food chicken is made – things like chicken nuggets and patties. Also, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it.
Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve — bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this.
There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial colour.
But, hey, at least it tastes good, right? LEARN TO MAKE YOUR OWN SANDWICHES!

Spelt out for you....
It is still mid winter, and new year, so I am still cooking up a storm and trying to stay healthy. I found this great company called Sharpham who have created a great selection of organic spelt products. My favourite being the Spelt conchiglie tricolore pasta, made with egg, spinach and beetrot - keeping my plate colourful while it's grey outside! Order online, eat good food, feel good and know you are doing good buying organic!
See and eat with your hands.
What a great idea, but a shame it is not possible in real life. Wimpy decided to use their sesame seeds to write a message to the blind to let them know what they are going to eat. Check out this video which shows the dedication put into the message for 15 burgers, and then how it reached 200,000!
The Choc-Factor. You Decide!
If you are lucky enough to be in the US, you are now part of the judging team. Nestle is running a new Kit Kat campaign that gives you the ability to pick the next flavor from four selections: Double Choc, White Choc, Orange and Peanut Butter. Customers can use their smartphones and the Blippar app to scan campaign posters and vote for their favorite flavour.Another tech-savvy feature Nestle is implementing as part of the Kit Kat campaign is geofencing: Signed-up customers who walk near a store that stocks the new Kit Kat flavor will receive a notification on their phone. The new Kit Kat flavors are set to be unveiled on Jan. 23; voters have until Feb. 24 to decide which flavor will be a permanent part of Nestle's repertoire.
Use the force... choose your burger...
France's fast food chain Quick, has been known for their different burgers (Supreme Fois Gras; only halal meat in some restaurants etc) now they have gone universal. They have cooked up the black-looking bun - named Dark Vador - to tie in with the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3D. Although the Dark Vader burger looks chard to death by some laser, it is in fact, just food dye, with the usual burger patties, cheese, lettuce and others.. I certainly hope some Star Wars fanatics don't buy to save these as they are food, and will go off.. even if they are in their original package!
Cooking expels your anger... well now it can.
They say emotion creates beautiful things. Well, now your anger can create delicious food (as long as you don't burn it!) This Knuckle Pounder will beat your meat into submission to take on any form you wish. There are two reasons to pound the meat. First to make the meat more tender, and other is to flatten. Wienerschnitzel is a great start! Grab the meat, dip in egg, flour and breadcrumbs.. Fry.. Drizzel fresh lemon juice. Et Voila.

Sweet price to pay
We all love a good deal. So groupon is our daily fix, and what is sweeter than a cupcake deal? Well thats what one shop owner, Rachel Brown, in England did with a deal of 12 cupcakes normally priced at £26, went for £6.50. What Rachel didn't expect was 8,500 orders of her delicious cupcakes. So from the normal 100 cupcakes she made a month, she now had 102,00 cupcakes to make and had to hire 25 extra help to deal with the demand. After groupon's fee, Rachel was actually left with zero money. She lost on every order. Companies, beware!
Taking the 'cow' piss
India's Hindu cultural group, the Rashtiya Swayamsevak Sangh, have developed Gau Jal. Or Cow Water as its called, and hopes to be the healthy alternative to Coke and Pepsi.
Hindus worship cows, and many consume bovine urine and faeces in drinks and spice mixes for their 'health-giving' properties. This new move to promote 'cow water' as a potential to cure various diseases, and rival the sugary offerings of Coke and Pepsi really is not something likely to catch on outside of India. Currently the cow water is in its final stage of packaging, marketing and preservation.

Grow your own food, literally.
Mark Post, a Dutch scientist in University of Maastricht, is hoping to 'grow' a burger in his lab. Using strips of meat in a petri dish, he focuses on packing them with lab grown fat in the hope for something to happen. The difference will be, as its not an animal, there is no blood, and thus the flesh will be pale in colour. Classed as 'cultured meat', it's likely to cost around €250,000! Thats one whopping burger!
Chew on this...
University College Cork's research team under Professor Arendt, have some up with school's world-wide biggest nightmare. Chewing Gum. Except their's is biodegradable, and dissolves quickly in the mouth! Most chewing gums are made from synthetic rubber, softeners, sweeteners and flavourings, but Professor Arendt uses cereal proteins to modify the structure and thus rendering it more dissolvable.
Genius!

The lollipops Wonka didn't have....
Most of us, at some stage, were forced to play with that infected child with chicken pox, even though we never played with them before, as our parents wanted us to build up immunity or catch it. Well now, in this digital era, you can source chicken pox parties in your local area, in America. Or go one step further. On Facebook, there are now Lollipop sellers that 'say' they are selling lollipops their chicken-pox-infected children had possibly infected. Your package comes in that of a used lollipop that you are going to give your healthy child, believing its (just) chicken pox on the lollipop.
But, you can also get sent to jail for sending infectious diseases (chicken/anthrax) through the mail! So avoid buying or selling lollies from strange people on the internet, parents!

Fruity idea?
One piece of fruit is banned in most hotels and public transport. With a prickly skin tough enough to draw blood, it really has evolved to a state where the skin protects the inside, but the inside is still foul. Who would have eaten these in the first place? Revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits" is has been described in many ways from ""completely rotten, mushy onions" to "French-kissing your dead grandmother". In a weird way, a marmite of fruit. You either love it or hate it. As for its odour, " pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock". Lovely.

Noodle fever!
On August 25, 1958, Momofuku Ando invented the world's first instant noodle product, "Chicken Ramen", and this year the world's first Noodle Museum has opened up in Japan. The Museum has 12 points of interest, from the information, library, to the reproduced shed that Ando was in when he made the first instant noodle product and a cup noodle drama theatre in the shape of, you guessed it, a large cup noodle. It tells the tale of the inspiration that lead to the invention of the world's first cup-type instant noodle product. You finally get to the Tasting room where you can buy limited edition products from their vending machines. MMMM.. yummy...
One or the other... or both?

We Getting Stoopider
I have recently taken up baking, (am a novice for another while yet, I think) but I keep trying. In my searches for variety and different things to make, I found this recipe that just left me confused. Are we, as an internet centered people, so reliant on the internet that we had to look up this recipe?

Eat your delicious name...
Poilâne, the famous french bread maker, can make your breakfast all that more delicious with your own inscription or message on the bread. What an ingenious idea for us bread lovers around. Unfortunately, they only have boulangerie's in Paris and London, but they will post to most locations in Europe and the US.
Willy Wonka in real life..
I am a choco-holic. I am a proud choco-holic. I love chocolate, and everything is encompasses. Usually cream, praline, pretzel, peanuts: but Paul Young, owner of the famous chocolate boutiques in London, has gone beyond boarders.Much like the fashion industry, Paul has taken to making an autumn/winter chocolate line and his latest creations released this weekend are: 'Young's 'Smoky' chocolates' , spiked with a 16-year-old Lagavulin whiskey, black Cavendish tobacco, a Chinese Lapsang Souchon tea, cinnamon leaf and black cardamom. The result is a smoky, deep, earthy warm ‘autumnal' bonbon that summons the smells of a log fire under a blanket of cocoa. Or why not try his 'Cheeseboard' chocolate which is made up of Roquefort, walnut and celery chocolate, which challenges palates to open up their senses and suspend preconceived notions.

Diet on air.
Take a long deep breath, and that's your dinner! from the mind of Dr. David Edwards, a biologist in Harvard University. His previous invention last year was Le Whif, a lipstick sized tube that allows you to inhale powered chocolate. 'Le Whaf is a new way to experience food' Edwards says. You can try the vodka taste, where you breath in and taste the vodka, but not the effects it brings with it. You can experience this new way of 'brEATing' (?) : head down FoodLab at Rue de Bouloi, Paris owned by Edwards and Michelin starred Bordeaux chef Thierry Marxs'. With tastes that can include juices, cocktails, even lemon pie, this is a diet I would be willing to have a Whaf of!

Royal Virility Performance, made by BrewDog, contains 7.5 percent alcohol and also contains extra aphrodisiacs including horny goat weed and even chocolate, so consuming 3 bottles is the same as taking one of the little blue pills. Sold online online at BrewDog and only one per customer, due to the effects that would occur.

Chocolate covered Pig belly.
I am gagging here. My favourite food - chocolate (naturally), has been shamefully been caught smothering the belly meat of a pig. (uck). Where else in the world would you find this delectable (?) snack. Sweet and Salty. What is worse is I have found bacon cookie recipe. Yes thats right, sweet chewy cookies, with bacon pieces as well as chocolate chips. To go for this option, heat bacon with brown sugar in the oven, after 15mins, dice, then mix the cookie ingredients together with the bacon and create small balls. Cook your bacon cookies and (apparently) these are the new treat. Go for it if you dare.
Eating out of a tin...
Literally. Your sandwich and condiments are inside the tin. Open can, open bread, and use the small tubes of filler to put in yourself. Excess waste of tin, correct, but your bread is not squashed. Currently Candwich comes in 3 options: Peanut Butter and Jelly (Grape and Strawberry) and BBQ Chicken, I can honestly say the PBJ sounds more healthy than the chicken and it looks different when taking out of the usual lunch box. Something entertaining for the kids, but i doubt it will really take off. But something for fun for those camping days out with the children.
Sweet Tea!
Bring back your youth with Marshmallow tea. Smells and tastes of the delicious white and pink fluffy sweets we ate as young children (and still do, especially in hot chocolate in the winter).
It adds something special when you are having someone over for tea. Serve this with some mini cakes and it is a girlie low tea!
Also available in bubblegum tea! These flavours are own brand in Albert Heijn stores in Holland.

Sit and eat.......
The Sugar Chair. 'It's a test. The more you lick it, the less of it you have. You have to decide for yourself how much of it to eat' says Pieter Brenner, Cologne based designer. This is not for its cosmetic purpose, i.e. to sit on, but just to eat. Just odd you will literally be eating off the floor!

Where what you see is not what you eat!
Not to brag about Irish cuisine (not like I can really) but I have had the pleasure of eating in Rustic Stone and now attempt the dishes at home myself (with thanks to the online menu!). Dylan McGrath has even got the nutritional guide on the menu for Vegetarian, Gluten/Wheat/Sugar/Dairy free,Low Fat or Super Foods. The Outrageous Orange Salad is delicious, and Chocolate Soup and Mousse... drooooollll.

Ooozzzzing fashion...
What is typical English? HP sauce (although that's debateable as it is now owned by a Dutch company, but never mind). So HP Brown Sauce. Fashion Wise? Mods? Kind of Mods fashion wise? Paul Smith. So what they have gone and done? A Paul Smith HP Sauce label, but with browner shades of the typical Paul Smith signature.
